Rikhia, a remote tribal region Northwest of Calcutta, is historically one of the poorest areas of India. Each year, thousands of people from all over the world travel here to receive the blessings of the great mother Goddess, Chandi.
The ancient art of tantric ritual and fire ceremony invokes the power and blessings of the goddess.
Satsang (spiritual talks), mantra chanting, sacred symbols and thousands of flowers,
fruits and seeds invite the divine energies into existence. At the same time thousands of gifts are distributed to all who attend.
This tantric festival is hosted by Swami Satyananda Saraswati, one of India's few authentic, living gurus. He pioneered yoga in the Western world and has transformed this remote region from poverty to prosperity.
